subject Algin Oldham family tree on Rootsweb
While looking for information on a woman named Opal Phelan I came across this obituary online. With not being sure of Opal Phelan's maiden name I started looking up Opal Oldham based on the obit and saw your family tree on Rootsweb. The womanmring to learn more about would have been born around 1908 and had a son in 1927. She was married to a man named William Jerry Phelan and I thnk she might have been the second wife. Do you know if the woman I'm looking up could be the daughter of Algin Oldham in your family tree?
Thanks Frankie McGraw-Nicol

The only reference I have is in the 1930 census. It says William Phelan, age 47, is married to 22 yr old Opal and they are living in Monroe City, Louisiana with their 3 yr old son, Patrick. I tried working back to find "Opal Phelan" and learraiden name, maybe get their marriage to see if it's the right William. I haven't found much but did find that obit for Mrs. Opal Phelan, daughter of Algin Oldham. What caught my attention was that it sounded like she was from OK and the Patrick Phelan I'm looking for did live in OK at one time as an adult so I thought this might have been is mother. The 1930 census says they were married 4 yrs so this particular marriage would have happened in 1926. I know it's a long shot but I thought it worth trying. The only William & Patrick Phelan entry I find in the 1930 census is the one showing Opal as the wife/mother.
