PENDLETON - JoAnn (Vail) Oldham, 85, passed away Dec. 26, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Anderson, grew up in Fortville and was a Pendleton resident since 1948. JoAnn was a devoted farmwife, mother and homemaker. She was a 1946 graduate of Fortville High School and attended Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton. She was past member of Tri Kappa Sorority and Spring Valley Quilters. JoAnn especially enjoyed the art of rug hooking.
Survivors include her husband, Charles T. "Charlie" Oldham, whom she married Jan. 23, 1948, in Fortville; four children, Mike Oldham of New Castle, Greg (wife, Dinah) Oldham of Pendleton, Steve (wife, Terri) Oldham of Anderson and Beth (husband, Allen) Oldham Greer of Asheville, N.C.; sister, Faith Nicely of Harlingen, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott (wife, Catrece) Oldham, Jenni (husband, Mike) Oldham Hannah, Nathan (wife, Lisa) Oldham and Melissa Oldham; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexis Oldham, Paiton Oldham, Torrie Oldham, Carly Overlin, Chase Hannah, Nick Hannah, Averie Oldham and Kaylie Oldham. She was preceded in death by parents, Edward "Eddie" and Ruth (Lowe) Vail, and daughter-in-law, Jeannine Oldham. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton, with Pastors Bob Hargis and Lance Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lahm Chapel.
