Hi Jan, I'm sending you a few questions that might Help us to see if our Kerch's are connected. I'm pretty sure they are. Did Louis come to America in 1937 on a ship with his parents (Heinrich & Anna Margaretha) & his brother, Heinrich? Did his father die on the ship in the middle of the Atlantic? Did Louis, his brother & mother settle in New Bedford, Ohio? Did his mother marry a Henry Fender shortly after they settled in Ohio? Did Louis move to Indiana when he was of age & work at a general store there? Was Louis born, Ludwig Kerch in 1930 in Germany. Did Louis Kerch marry Elizabeth Hochstetler about 1852 in Owen, IN? There may not be anyone alive today that would remember hearing any of this, but hopefully there is. I grew up in Ohio & that's where we had all our Kerch reunions. My grandfather Kerch's wife(they both died long before I was born) was a Sommers & those reunions were in Kokomo, IN. I think Dale Sommers still owns the corn farm there. Hope that wasn't too many questions.
