  Notes	History of Orange County, 1950, pg 60: Richard Walters was probably the f irst physician in the present bounds of Northeast Township, where he liv ed for some time at Nebo. He afterwards moved to a farm near lancaster a nd here remained the balance of his life, enjoying a lucrative practice a nd the esteem of all who knew him. Dr. Richard Walters came to Northeast Township about the year 1853 and loc ated on the railroad three-quarters of a mile east of Leipsic.
