      (------ Witherell and Daniel Oldham, P.R. I91_

1774 he witnessed a deed given by his father (Ply Deeds 58.216). He served in the Revolutionary War. His name does not appear in the 1790 Census of any of the New England States. The probability is that he died before that date.

History of the Hayford Family, 1100-1900

Ichabod Bonney5, Esq., son of Ichabod4, and brother of Betty (Bonney) Hayford, in Sept. 1783, removed from Pembroke to North Yarmouth, Me., with their family, in company with Samuel Taylor, Daniel Oldham, Dea. John Briggs and Dea. Robinson, with their families.

While Ichabod Bonney4 and his wife, Elizabeth (Howland) Bonney, with his son, Isaiah5, were making preparations to follow Ichabod5 "down East," as they termed it, Ichabod4 was taken sick and died. Isaiah5 then took his mother, Elizabeth, and with his family left their native town for Turner, Me., sailing by schooner from Plymouth to Yarmouth, Me. On their passage, Elizabeth, the mother, was stricken with paralysis and became helpless. They landed at North Yarmouth. She was taken from there to New Gloucester, the New Gloucester people brought her to Pejepscot (now Danville), where they put her on a litter and brought her into town by the way of Poplar Hill, guided by spotted trees. They arrived in town on the Sabbath, but she survived only a few days and was buried on the following Sabbath.

I am trying to find out if Daniel Oldham and Desire Ransome had more children than what you have listed online? I was told they may be the parents of the Oldhams that moved to Peru, Maine....

There are three siblings Polly Oldham b. 1781, Daniel b. 1783 or 1793, and Thaddeus b. 1790. These 3 siblings all came from Pembroke Massachusetts and moved to Peru Maine. Can you tell me if Daniel and Desire were their parents? or if not, who their parent are???

      I am a descendant from Daniel b. 1783 or 1793.......

Thank you for any help you can give me..

      Jean

      HISTORICAL SKETCH

      BY
      SHARON ROBINSON.
(Condensed from Lewiston Evening Journal of June 11, i888.)

Barney Jackson and wife were the first white couple that spent the night in what is now the town of Sumner, and they pitched their camp near the present residence of Capt. Lewis Bisbee. They did not, however, locate permanently in town. Michael Kinley made the first clearing, but was not a permanent resident. The first permanent family was Noah Bosworth's, who moved from Plympton, Mass., probably about 1782. This place is now occupied by H. S. Palmer. The second family was Daniel
Oldham's from Pembroke, Mass., who located on the place so long known as the Russell farm, and now occupied by H. B. Cobb. The third family was Charles Ford's, also from Pembroke, and is the farm now occupied by Thomas Stephens. As to the fourth family it is not certain.
