      Obituary
      Miss Phoebe E. Oldham was born in Delaware County, May 5, 1827, and died March 8, 1892, at the home of her sister, near Bradner. It was her earnest desire to do good and be good, ans was always afraid of doing wrong. She was respected and loved by all who knew her.

      How much we miss her friendly calls,
      There's none of us can tell;
      Although she's taken from our midst,
      She's gone with Christ to dwell.

      We miss her as a Christian, true,
      But Jesus knoweth best;
      We need not mourn the loss of her,
      For Phoebe is at rest.

      We sometimes think we almost hear,
      Her footsteps coming, yet,
      May we her goodness imitate,
      Her councils ne'er forget.

      We often heard her say with tears,
      Though friends might prove unjust;
      That Jesus would ne'er forsake those,
      Who in Him put their trust.
