Edwin Wilson Oldham was born in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio, February 13, 1878, a son of Albert H. Oldham & Josephine (Hodgman) Oldham. In 1900, at the age of 23, Ed graduated from Case School of Applied Science, with an engineering degree in chemistry.
In 1902 he married Clara Rowland. They had four children: Rowland, Albert Henry, Mary and Verne Lawrence Oldham. He was a member of West Congregational Church in Akron. He was a charter member, former secretary and past master of Coventry Lodge,F & AM, and a member of Golen Age Club and American Chemical Society, all of Akron.
Edwin died in 1952, in Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Akron, he had resided in Canton for 3o years. He moved to Akron in 1915. He leaves three sons, Verne and Dr. Rowland Oldham, both of Akron, and Albert Oldham of Silver Lake; one daughter, Mrs. Earl Hollen of Akron; 10 grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Mary Oldham and Mrs.Ida Custer, both of Canton, Ohio. Burial was in Rose Hill Burial Park, Akron, Ohio.
