    • R.C. Ballard Thurston notes 1899: He left a will dated Feb 25, 1826, probated April 3 1826 and recorded in will book 2 page 319 at Louisville, Kentucky. He mentions having inherited a farm from his father, Samuel Oldham, also his wife Elizabeth, who "shall keep all my children that are not married together." but does not mention their names.

      Elizabeth Fields Oldham is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery, the grave yard is located bewteen Ashbottom and Poplar Level Roads. The original property of Samuel Odlham adjoined that of William Pope and Samuel Churchill. The graveyard is slightly southeast of Churchill Downs. (see article in notes) This is now a part of the Kentucky State Fairgrounds.

      Daughter Emily C. was married in Floyd County, Indiana 1830.

      SUMMARY
      Copy of a Louisville Board of Trustees petition to Virginia's Assembly requesting clarification of an act passed granting land in the town to John Campbell. Provisions of the act suspended the board's right to dispose of British subject John Connolly's escheated lands. [page 2] Signatures of trustees William Pope, Marsham Brashear, Andrew Hynes, George Wilson, James Patten, Benjamin Pope, and William Oldham.

      4. George Calhoun m. Susan Cotton; William Oldham m. 1803 Elizabeth Field (1785-1870). George Calhoun (1750-1835) received a pension in Daviess County, Ky., for service as lieutenant and quartermaster, Pennsylvania Line. He was born in Pennsylvania; died in Kentucky. Also No. 44319.

      [p.56] Reuben Field (1757-1815) served as private and captain under Col. Peter Muhlenberg, Pennsylvania Line. He was born in Culpeper County, Va.; died in Paris, Ky.

      In the name of God Amen,

      I William Oldham of the town of Louisville, County of Jefferson and State of Kentucky being sick and weak in body, but of a sound disposing mind and memory, do make, ordain and publish this and this only to be my last will and testament in manner and form following To wit: ---------, It is my will and desire and I do hereby direct that any Executors herein after named Shall as soon as possible after my death pay all my just debts.

      Item. I give and devise to my beloved wife Elizabeth Oldham for and during her natural life my household and kitchen furniture, my waggon and ______, my negroes namely Peter, Frank, Irene, Cynthia, Charles, Esther and Marian and my two three story brick houses and grounds attached channels in said town which I purchased of Walter E. Towers and which lies on the south side of and adjoining Market Street. Also all of my other property of every kind and description, except as is herein otherwise directed upon the following bonds and conditions. To wit. That she shall keep all my children that are not married together and will board and clothe them and educate such of them as are not educated as far as in her
