The 1800 census reflects 2 males<10yrs.
The 1810 census shows 2 males 16-26.
The 1820 census shows 1 male 26-45.
The 1830 census shows -w oldham in shelby,tenn.,age 30-40(gw was 38.
The 1840 census shows g w oldham 40-49(he was 48).
The 1850 census reports g w oldham is 58 years old and has a son age 20---Tapley oldham, bn 1830 in tenn.
George Washington Oldham was one of maj. george's 6 children per your e-mail last night.
The 1850 census reflects his birth in SC.
In addition, there is an error in the 1790 census index, as it does not show a george oldham. However,if you review the census page for james oldham-pendleton,sc., george is clearly listed.

george washington oldham died in 1853 at age 61 in shelby,co.,tenn.(source-probate records)

Most of gl's census records,1840 tenn.-1890 ar. reflect his father as born in sc.
I also have a 1840 shelby co. land plat of memphis,tenn. reflecting gw and gl as neighbors.
also, gus 'garland' oldham was the grandson of gl oldham and the son of dr.dudley john oldham.
the 1840 census reflects gl as married and head of household.
