I am looking for any relatives of Andrew Allen Jackson Oldham. He was born in Missouri about 1852. He also lived in Indian Territory Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. He was married to Louisa Evans of Tennessee. They had five children. Bessie, Rosie, Lucy, Andy Willie "Bud", and James "Jim" were their names. His daughter Lucy Oldham was my grandmother. She was married to Alwin Melzin Benefield, Sr. Andy Oldham died in Shreveport, Louisiana, on December 24, 1930. I have his death certificate. His wife, Louisa "Lucy" Evans Oldham also died in October 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana. I have her death certificate as well. I even have his obituary. I have not been able to find hers. I have a lot of their census records and even a couple of addresses. I have found a lot of his records, but there are still some missing pieces. I would like to work together to find out more about him and his life. I have been doing genealogy research for several years. My email address is wilsonpkb@gmail.com. Please contact me so that we can share information.

      Thanks,
      Pam Benefield Wilson

Thank you! I do wonder who he was connected to. Would you mind telling me who he was connected to? There are several Andrew Jackson Oldhams.

I have found numerous records that did not pertain to our Andrew Jackson Oldham. A couple were even a different race or married to a different woman. The funny thing that I have been dealing with is this. My Andrew Allen Jackson Oldham has listed what appears to be his in-laws as his parents on his death certificate. His wife who died the same year, does not list her parents even though they were still alive at that time. That is why I did the DNA test.

Are you familiar with the DNA tests and how they work? I showed up as being related to Elizabeth Simpson and Ann Pepper at approximately the same generational level through several 4th cousins.

The only family member that would fit would be Enoch Oldham which is Flemon's father. The DNA does seem to bear out the family connections that I suspected but could not completely corroborate through the paper trail.
