I am researching a John Oldham in Cass County, Missouri. Do you have any sources for the two John Oldham, 1792 entries in the Oldham Database? There are two entries for a John Oldham, 1792. Are they the same person? I am attempting to locateer of Alfred Washington Oldham, 1820 Kentucky and believe he might have been John Oldham 1792 and Elizabeth Oldham 1792 (see 1850 Cass Missouri County US Census). I also believe John 1792 may be the brother of George 1795 or 1796 on the same page of the 1850 Cass county Census. These seem to match your John and George, sons of Tarpley, 1765 copied below.

My brother will be traveling to Virginia this coming week and would be willing to track down any written sources on the east coast. Some guidance about original or secondary sources available would be very appreciated.
      Thank you,
      Bill Oldham

That John Oldham, 1792 Virginia, son of Tarpley Oldham, is one and the same as John Oldham, 1792, father of Alfred Washington Oldham, 1820 KY. John Oldham is in Cass County, Missouri in 1850 Census with wife, Elizabeth Oldham, 1796 Virginia.eoonecting evidence save the circumstantial evidence of the above mentioned 1850 Census and the 1840 Census both showing Jno 1792 and George 1795 Oldham living adjacent to one another in Johnson (reincorporated Cass)County Missouri. Your Eliza and Elizabeth may refer to the same person as spouse of John Oldham and she is listed with him in the 1850 Census b. 1796 Virginia. The death date for John Oldham is after 1850. He does not appear in the 1860 Census in Cass County. Well researched cemeteries in Cass County reveal no John or Elizabeth Oldham or their dates. Many of their children went to other places in Missouri and Kansas after 1850 and it could be they moved to be with one of them -- I'm still looking.
