      (Obituary from Connersville newspaper)
      CHARLES F. OLDHAM

As thy days, so shall thy strength be!
This should be enough for Thee.
He who knows they frame will spare
Burdens more than thou cans't bear.
When thy days are veiled in night
Christ shall give Thee heavenly light.
      Seem they wearisome and long
Yet in Him thou shall be strong.
It was just at morn, when the day
      was awakening,

When sunlight thro darkness and shadows was breaking, February 12, 19 22, The Death Angel rapped at the door of a neighbor and friend and gent ly summoned another spirit into the Great Beyond.

Charles F. Oldham, oldest son of George and Emeline Oldham, was bo rn in Fayette county, August 23, 1858, and was 63 years, 5 months and 19 d ays, he lived on this earth.

November 15, 1888 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Brown. Th is union was blessed with six children, one son dying in infancy. Three sons, and two daughters, the Rev. C. E. Oldham of Indianapolis, Mrs. Lura Braddock, Walter, Carl aye, hful companion are left to mourn his going away.

February 22, 1893 he unified with the Christian Church at Springersville and from that time until about 2 years ago, he was truly a pillar of the church. Serving for many years as Elder, Sunday-School Superintendent and Teacher.

His experience, and advice was a wonderful blessing to this struggling congregation. A lifetime of faith and service, was witnessed by all who knew him. His influence is not dead, but lives to inspire those who knew him best, to follsft l

He was a loyal member of the K.of P Lodge, also of the P.O.S of A as long as that order existed at Lyonsville.

Whenever he was a member of any organization, Charlie was one of their workers.

He was of a family of 8 children, 3 having preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 brothers, Wm. Oldham of Cambridge City and Emmett Oldham of near Connersville, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Melbourne of Louisville, Kentucky and Mrs. Gert. Ab
ow came to the hearts and lives of these children, while they were quite young. When their mother was called from this earth. Yet like brave soldiers, they fought the battles of life, assisting their father in keeping a home. With all this Charlie made a strong effort to secure a good education and as a reward of his untiring efforts he was a public school teacher for many years, also serving in all public affairs of his community until his health became impaired.

In 1913, on account of failing health, he and his family moved to Connersville. Never complaining of his afflictions, he gradually grew weaker until his spirit took its flight to the God who gave it.

No medical attention, no loving care, was neglected in effort to save this life.

And while these dear heart broken relatives, who stood over the form and fought so bravely to keep the spirit with them, they lost in their noble battle. Yet God has not failed to see their tender devotion and He will not fail to giveh tru

His death has cast a gloom of sadness over the entire community which will not soon clear away.
Let your tears be tears of Joy.
His pain is over, his home is won.
So let your prayer be one like this
"Thy will oh God, not ours be done."
      END
