      Oldham was born in 1774 in Pennsylvania. He married Mary Buchanan, daughter of William Buchanon, circa 1794 in Pennsylvania. He was James Oldham and Mary his wife sold to Alexander McCoy for the sum of three hundred dollars a tract of land coghree hundred acres on Middle Wheeling Creek it being part of a tract of four hundred acres sold to Isaac Oldham. Witness; Moses Chapline, George Knox and Dennis Cassatt on 2 February 1807 in Middle Wheeling Creek,, Ohio, Virginia. He listed on the muster roll of a company of men who went from Guernsey County into the army in the war of 1812 in 1812 in Guernsey, Ohio. He married Nancy Agnes Brown on 27 January 1814. He went to Ohio before 1820. He appeared on the census of 1820 in Wheeling, Guernsey, Ohio. He on the tax list in 1825 in Guernsey, Ohio. He appeared on the census of 1830 in Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio. He appeared on the census of 1850 in Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio. He died after 1850 in Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio.

      GUERNSEY COUNTY IN THE WAR OF 1812.

      As a contrictuion to the centennial history of Guernsey county we have had pladed in our hands by Denison Tetrick, Esq., of Madison township, a fragment of an original master roll of a company of men who went from this county into the arm in the war of 1812. The roll will be of very great interest to all of our readers, particularly the older people and the descendents and relatives of the old soldiers who did such honorable service. The names of a number of the men have faded out of memory and it is well and fitting that they should be revived. The list contains many family names yet familiar in the county. The spelling of names is preserved as it occurs on the fragment of the roll, which is as follows:
